Why Did the Gold Price Stay Unchanged Today?
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association kept 24K gold unchanged at Rs439,036 per tola on Monday 19 October, the same as Saturday’s rate, and the 10-gram rate stayed at Rs376,402. Its reference world price was also unchanged at $4,165 an ounce.
World gold moved little on Monday, trading between about $4,170 and $4,181. Oil prices fell back from a five-month high after Washington waived some sanctions and tariffs on Russian energy, which eased the inflation worries left by last week’s hot US price data.
Gold held steady even as the US dollar firmed, which analysts read as continued buying by central banks and physical buyers. Markets still expect no change at the 27–28 October Federal Reserve meeting but see a rate rise by December as very likely, at about 89%.
Silver gained Rs59 to Rs6,234 per tola and Rs50 to Rs5,344 per 10 grams, as world silver rose about 0.8% to above $58 an ounce.

International gold settled at $4,165 per ounce, unchanged on the day. At the interbank dollar rate of Rs277.02, that equals Rs432,671 per tola. The local Sarafa rate of Rs439,036 is Rs6,365 (1.5%) above that world-price conversion, a premium that reflects the cost of dollars and local demand.
