Sovereign, Krugerrand and Maple Leaf Price in Pakistani Rupees

Internationally traded bullion coins state their pure (fine) gold content. A 22K coin such as the Krugerrand weighs more than an ounce in total, because the copper alloy is added on top of a full ounce of gold. Here is each coin’s gold value at today’s Pakistani 24K rate:

How to Check a Gold Coin Before You Buy

  1. Check the stamped purity (999, 999.9 or 916.7) and weight on the coin or its card.
  2. Weigh it: a 1 tola coin should read about 11.66 g and a 1 oz bullion coin about 31.10 g (24K) or 33.93 g (22K).
  3. Compare the diameter and thickness with the official specification; fakes are often the right weight but the wrong size.
  4. Keep coins in their sealed card or capsule; scratches can lower the resale price.
  5. Ask for a receipt with the seller’s name, the weight and the purity.

Selling Gold Coins in Pakistan
